The success story of Tipico begins in a small betting shop in Karlsruhe. What started as a small business of three students quickly evolved into a flourishing company. Soon, Tipico became one of the leading European betting providers with land based business and online offer. Since 2004, the company’s headquarters are in St. Julian’s, Malta. Tipico not only holds licenses for sports betting and online Games, but also employs 332 people from 37 nations on the Mediterranean island, and being one of the most popular employers there.

In 2016, the company’s founders sold large parts of Tipico Sportwetten to CVC Capital Partners, one of the world’s leading private equity and investment advisory companies. The management of Tipico Co. Ltd. combines many years of experience in the gaming industry: Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Joachim Baca, Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) Marlon van der Goes and Chief Regulatory Officer (CRO) Karin Klein form part of the management board since 2016. Since 2017, Stefan Eck has joined the Management Board of the Tipico Group as Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
